From July 2023, Google stopped processing data using Universal Analytics (UA). What does it mean?
This means that new data will no longer be displayed in the statistics, however, all previous data can be viewed and downloaded until the end of 2023.
Many users have already adopted the new GA4, but there are many who are still using the old Analytics (UA). Usually, the reason is either lack of time and skills to update, or lack of awareness that anything has changed at all. Many don’t even have Analytics. Analytics allows past reports to be viewed in the system and reports can be downloaded up to December 2023.
How do I find out if and which Analytics is currently being used on my website?
If you have the skills and knowledge, you can easily see it from the source code of your website. The old Analytics tracking ID usually starts with UA- in the code and the new one with G-. Of course, it is possible that Google Tag Manager has been added to the site, which means that the Analytics code cannot be found in the source code of the website. In this case, you should see the code in the Tag Manager account. If you need help with detecting the version of Analytics on your site, please contact us, we will be happy to help you.
